A Bola / Joaquim Lobo
Mozambican canoeing duo Mussa Talbuduine and Joaquim Lobo finished their participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro with 11th place in the K2 1000 metres race. The canoeists finished with a time of 4:38 minutes.
As the only ones to get past the first round, Talbuduine and Lobo turned out to be the best among the Mozambicans athletes in the Olympics, having reached the semi-finals but failing to secure a place in the final after finishing in sixth position.
All the other Mozambicans athletes, including Kurt Couto (athletics), Janna Sonneschein and Igor Mogne (swimming) and Marlon Acacio (judo) were eliminated in the first round.
After their race, the Mozambican duo, making their debut in the competition, were pleased with their performance, and are now looking forward to qualify for the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2022.
