LAM Mozambique Airlines: 'We discovered a den of corruption implanted within our company' - Watch

A worker in South Africa since 1992, Antonio Confazer, 52, crosses the border at Ressano Garcia every year to spend Easter in Mozambique, his home. Yesterday Confazer crossed at the country’s busiest border post, because Easter is one of those times one must be with one’s family. “In South Africa I am alone, so over Easter, I just have to come back and stay with my family,” he told O País.
Like Confazer, thousands of people crossed Ressano Garcia on the third day of ‘Operation Easter’, including Jeronimo Salvador, a miner since 1982, who decided to come home earlier this year not only to see more of his family but to regularize his employment contract as well.
For Confazer and Salvador and the many thousands of their fellow-citizens, ‘Operation Easter’ will be keeping Mozambique’s border crossings open 24 hours a day until 30 March.
