Go Mambas! Mozambique names 25 for decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers
Following the qualifications of Kurt Couto in the 400 m hurdles and Edmilsa Governo in the Paralympics , Mozambique has now increased to four the number of athletes who will take part in the Rio de Janeiro global sportfest in August.
For the first time in its history, Mozambican canoeing will be represented, after duo Joaquim Manhique and Mussa Tualbudine achieved direct qualification.
Manhique and Tualbudine booked their tickets to Rio by taking gold in the 100 m sprint at the African Canoeing Cup in Durban, South Africa, at the weekend.
