Last Friday, the city of Maputo hosted an unprecedented “Castle Lite Unlocks” show at the Aquapark venue, with an audience of more than 8,500 people thrilling to a succession of performers until nearly 4:00 a.m..
Emerson Miranda was MC of the show, and the highlight of the night was a performance by the American rapper, Future, famous worldwide for such hit albums as “HNDRXX.”
To euphoric cheers, Future gave one of the most epic rap and hip-hop performances ever seen in Mozambique, closing the first Castle Lite Unlocks show in Mozambique with his mammoth hit, “Mask off”.
South African rapper Cassper Nyovest was not far behind either, with the audience bopping hard to the likes of “Doc Shebeleza”, “Tito Mboweni” among others.
Also from South Africa, DJ Voodoo played in the pre-Unlocks reception area and DJ Maphorisa on stage to lead the show with a selection of the sounds and rhythms the Mozambican public appreciates so much.
Mozambique rapper Laylizzy sang some of his most popular hits, such as “Tha Crew”, with the public accompanying him loud and clear from start to finish. Unforgettable performances by DJs Dilson, Ellex and Tay brought their unique takes on the best rhythms to liven up the audience and some of the most popular songs of the day.
