Mozambique: ANE closes Incomati river bridge to traffic

A total of 5,491 Mozambican citizens were deported from South Africa between January 1 and February 26 of this year, the National Migration Service of Mozambique [SENAMI] has announced.
Of these, 5,245 are alleged to have entered South Africa illegally, the rest having been indicted for various crimes there.
Authorities say that 216 Mozambicans, 210 of them men, arrived in Mozambique on Friday via the Ressano Garcia border crossing in Maputo province.
Among them were one citizen accused of murder, another of selling narcotics, and 22 allegedly involved in robberies.
Those citizens repatriated for illegal immigration will return to their areas of origin, while those convicted of crimes will be sent to Mozambican prisons to serve out their sentences.
