Mozambique police have so far arrested more than 300 individuals suspected of involvement in attacks by armed men in the districts of Palma and Mocímboa da Praia in Cabo Delgado.
The detainees include national and foreign citizens, most of latter Tanzanian.
The information was released by the police spokesman Inacio Dina in Maputo on Tuesday during the regular weekly police press briefing
Dina clarified that the suspects were involved in similar criminal acts, and that the investigating team would determine whether or not there was any link with the attacks that began on October 5 in Mocimboa da Praia.
Dina confirmed that another attack had occurred, in Nangade district, Cabo Delgado, and said that police were reinforcing security measures to stop disturbances of order and security in the region.
