More than 15,800 health workers inoculated by day 2 of Covid vaccine rollout – minister

Minister of Health Armindo Tiago said this Wednesday morning that “more than 15,800 health professionals were inoculated with the Covid-19 vaccine in the first two days of the national vaccination campaign”, the first phase of which will cover 65,000 medical personnel in the country.
Minister Tiago also revealed that the health sector has sufficient Covid-19 personal protective equipment 19 for this year, and that the provincial health directorates have equipment (in consumables) for more than two months, as well as guaranteed medicine supplies for the next two years.
The minister was outlining the situation in parliament during the government’s report to deputies session.
Minister Tiago’s report concentrated on three aspects, namely, the efforts to reduce coronavirus infections; the initiation of vaccination against Covid-19; and the management of funds available to fight the disease.
Tiago was preceded in his address to parliament by Prime Minister Carlos Agostinho do Rosário.
