After holding bilateral talks with President Filipe Nyusi and signing four major agreements. Prime Minister Narendra Modi finished the first leg of his Africa tour with an address to the Indian diaspora and a visit to Centre For Innovation & Technological Development in Maputo. He expressed regret at not having spent enough time in his interaction saying, “I should have spent more time with you all. But I assure you that when I come here next, I will give you all more time.”
During his address to the Indian community, he highlighted the contribution of Indian to the African continent while acknowledging the contributions of African to India. ”Africa was the land which started shaping the identity of the Indian diaspora,” he said. “Indians in Africa contribute to India’s status worldwide.”
