Screen grab: TVM
In Mocimboa da Praia town, generally a scene of complete devastation, there are still “intact” houses bearing signs in Swahili, warning “Siyo rusa kuinguia” – “Not to be touched”.
Military intelligence is investigating these and other similar cases found in all districts affected by terrorism, TVM reports.
Carrier facilities used by terrorists
A visit to the Nagi Transport facilities in the town reveals that a part of the premises was used by terrorists as an infirmary for the wounded, and also for accommodation, offices, and to hold captive people kidnapped by the criminals.
Roads from Mocimboa da Praia to Mueda, Macomia and Palma, unused for more than three years, have been partially reopened, although security forces warn that their use by civilians is not yet permitted.
