Mozambique: Arrested for alleged attempt to sell 27-year-old friend, 6-year-old daughter - Watch
The village of Mocimboa da Praia, in northern Mozambique, has been experiencing riots in the street caused by unknownindividuals since dawn today, sources at the site told Lusa.
“Strongly armed men with blunt weapons invaded the village and clashed with the police force,” said one resident of Cabo Delgado province.
According to the same source, several police officers were taken to the Mocimba da Praia rural hospital.
The reports coincide as to the description of shootings and robberies to some commercial establishments [in Mocímboa da Praia]. However, they differ as to the supposed group which is disturbing the village, leaving its identification open.
Contacted by Lusa, the police spokesman of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) said clarifications on the matter would be made during a PRM to take place during the day.
