Last Tuesday night, there was again panic in the town of Mocimboa da Praia, Cabo Delgado, when rumours of a possible attack by insurgents circulated.
According to ‘Carta’ sources, rumours started circulating after people reportedly saw, at around 3:00 p.m., a group of armed men in Buji, about 4 km from Mocimboa da Praia town centre.
Sources said the agitation gained ground after the Defence and Security Forces (FDS) intensified their presence and shots were heard whose origin, however, has not been established.
