The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security (MITESS) is to celebrate the roll-out of a modernisation of the Labour Market Information System management platform on the 9th of May 2019 at the National Directorate of Labour Market Observation in the old MITESS building.
The ceremony will be led by Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security Vitória Dias Diogo, with the participation of social and cooperation partners and representatives from the public and private institutions that are the key sources of information for the system.
The platform will enable better analysis of labour market behaviour, based on reliable statistics and contributing to the formulation of skills development policies and programmes, the creation of decent employment opportunities, and growth and economic integration.
The modernisation of the Labour Market Information System was supported by the African Development Bank (AfDB) under the Employment Generation and Income Improvement Project (PROGER), coordinated by the Institute for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises (IPEME) and of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), through the Decent Work Country Programme (DWCP) for an economic, sustainable and inclusive transformation in Mozambique (MozTrabalha) inserted in the technical assistance to the implementation of the main components of the employment policy approved by the government in 2016.
