The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security (MITESS) recently introduced a new software tool to facilitate the detection of the illegal employment of skilled foreign workers in Mozambique.
Called the Management System Migration Phenomenon (SIMIGRA), the tool will also boost speed and transparency in the management of skilled foreign labour.
According to AIM, after the completion of a 2015 pilot period, SIMIGRA is now being rolled out both in Maputo and the other provincial capitals, providing online service in the hiring of foreign nationals working in Mozambique.
MITESS explains that the new system is designed to operate across different sectors and services, sharing information for each type of activity.
The system will improve control over the legality of foreign labour, and should result in better labour administration with more reliable data collection and documentation with improved security features.
