The Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security (MITESS), Vitória Diogo, has granted a public holiday on August 12th for the city of Inhambane on its anniversary and for all Muslims in Mozambique to celebrate Eid al-Adha.
In separate statements issued by MITESS, the minister grants a holiday to all workers and civil servants who profess the Islamic faith on the occasion of the Eid al-Adha celebrations.
A second document grants a holiday to all workers and civil servants in the city of Inhambane on the anniversary of its accession to city status.
The note however stresses that the special holiday does not extend to workers and civil servants whose activity does not, in the public interest, permit of interruption.
