School should have no place for intolerance, drug use or violence, three behaviours that endanger an environment that is supposed to be safe, inclusive, healthy and motivating.
The Minister of Education and Human Development, Conceita Sortane, called in Maputo on Tuesday for an end to the physical violence perpetrated by students in Mozambican schools.
Sortane was speaking during a ceremony to launch a lecture series organised by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and called “The World’s Largest Lesson”. The lectures will be delivered in all Mozambican provinces as well as around the world.
Addressing more than 400 students from various primary and secondary schools, the minister said that schools should not be places for drug use and violence.
