Mozambique: Still no contact between Chapo and Venâncio Mondlane - Carta

During the course of this week, the Minister of National Defence, Atanásio Ntumuke, said that Mozambique and China enjoy “good and historic” relations of co-operation, expressing his hope that the two countries strengthen their relations even further so as to foster greater mutual benefits.
Minister Ntumuke was speaking during a meeting with China’s defence attaché, Colonel Naval Aéreo Zhou Chun Lin,
who bid the minister farewell after four years in Mozambique.
The Defence Minister began the meeting by praising the work of the Chinese diplomat on strengthening cooperation
between the two nations, especially in the military field, highlighting various actions undertaken to date.
The Minister added that during Zhou Chun Lin’s mission in Mozambique, there has been significant exchanges between the Armed Forces of Mozambique and the People’s Liberation Army of China.
In turn, Zhou Chun Lin thanked the Ministry of Defence for its efforts over the past four years, which resulted in numerous achievements.
“I feel I was able to translate into action all of the missions that my bosses intrusted to me while in Mozambique. Today I finish the mission with the knowledge of having fulfilled all the tasks listed for my mandate …”
The farewell of the military diplomat was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of China in Mozambique, Su Jian; the Advisory Board members of the Ministry of Defence; and generals of the FADM.
