Mozambique: 94 Inspection brigades created for the festive season
Rádio Moçambique / Carlos Mesquita minister of Transport and Communication of Mozambique.
The President of the Business Confederation of the CPLP (CE-CPLP), Mozambican entrepreneur Salimo Abdula, will chair the second CPLP Exporters Union Forum, in the Portuguese city of Braga, between 17 and 18 December.
The Forum is a joint initiative of the CPLP’s Exporters Union (UE-CPLP) and its Business Confederation, the CE-CPLP, set up in order to establish a robust business and cooperation platform and support the trade and internationalization activities of the business communities of Portuguese-speaking countries.
In addition to the Mozambican government, represented by Minister of Transport and Communications, Carlos Mesquita, about 20 business people from Mozambique will attend the event.
According to Abdula, Mesquita will explain what Mozambique is currently experiencing from a trade perspective and its development ambitions in different sectors of the economy. The forum also presents an opportunity for Mozambique to showcase its potential and have its business people establish international contacts and attract investment.
“For Mozambique, the expectation is huge. The whole CPLP family will attend this forum and we will showcase our potential in a very pragmatic way to institutions in other countries that have shown an interest in our markets,” Abdula says.
Abdula also believes that, with the forum due to be attended by other member governments, it will present an excellent opportunity for the international community to catch up on the socio-political state of Mozambique.
Abdula also highlights the importance of the partnerships that Mozambican entrepreneurs will attract, given that Mozambique has a great appetite for progress in the infrastructure, agriculture, oil and gas, tourism and services sectors. “All this is another way to convince and present and to remove any doubts that exist about Mozambique,” he says.
It is hoped that the event will attract more than 2,000 participants, including public and private institutions and businessmen from the nine CPLP member states, observer countries and international organizations.
The Forum will have corporate, institutional and cultural aspects representing the different segments of the CPLP market, and activities will be themed in four main areas: thematic seminars by country; business-to-business meetings; a conference entitled “CPLP – a Community of Comprehensive Peoples”; and a business and cultural showcase space.
