Mozambique’s Minister of Economy, Basílio Muhate, has held a meeting with Maxime Rabilloud, country chair and managing director of TotalEnergies in Mozambique, to discuss the current status of the largest natural gas exploitation project in the country, located in Rovuma Basin Area 1, Palma district, Cabo Delgado province.
During the meeting, crucial topics including biodiesel production, strengthening local content, and prospects of the project’s expansion were discussed.
TotalEnergies shared the measure of progress made and reaffirmed its willingness to continue working with the government, reinforcing its contribution to the country’s economic development.
In turn, the Minister of Economy presented the government’s strategic vision for the sector, highlighting efforts to promote private investment, enhance local content and accelerate industrialization as fundamental pillars of Mozambique’s economic independence.
