Minister calls for immediate maintenance of Maputo Ring Road

The Minister of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources, João Machatine, has told the new managers of the Maputo Ring Road to quickly solve the highway’s maintenance issues.
The management of the road became the responsibility of the National Road Administration (ANE) and the of Roads Fund after the Maputo-Sul Development company was closed in February. Maputo Sul was been created in 2010 to promote the construction and management of the Maputo-Ka Tembe Bridge and the Maputo-Ponta D’oro and Bela Vista-Boane roads.
Since its completion, maintenance of the Maputo Ring Road has been minimal, and dense vegetation may be seen growing on its sidewalks and carriageway dividers.
