Metical: Minor devaluations against the Euro and US dollar

The Mozambican currency dropped a few cents against the Euro in the last week and remained almost unchanged against the US dollar, according to daily exchange rates released by the central bank and followed by Lusa.

During the past week, the Euro was bought in the country at an average of 68.67 meticais, metical 32 cents the more than in the previous week, while sales averaged 70.03 meticais, 33 metical cents more.

The US dollar – the currency used as the basis for calculating the reference exchange rates for the other currencies in Mozambique – was bought at 60.23 meticais on average last week, while sales averaged 61.42 meticais, that is, with only marginal variations.
