Mozambique: Discussions on minimum wages to be held in August
The Mozambican currency lost more than 1.5 meticais against the Euro last week as a result of the appreciation of the Euro against the US dollar, according to the central bank’s daily average exchange rates followed by Lusa.
In average terms, the Euro was being bought last week in Mozambique for 71.48 meticais, 1.59 meticais more than the previous week.
Sale took place at 72.90 meticais, 1.62 meticais more than last week, according to weekly averages calculated by Lusa from Bank of Mozambique figures.
The average purchase price of the Euro ranged between 69.96 and 70.02 meticais, while the asking price ranged between 71.36 and 71.76 meticais.
The Mozambican currency remained stable against the US dollar. The metical lost a few cents against the US dollar (the currency the central bank uses to calculate the average daily reference exchange rates of the other currencies) with buying averages at 58.40 meticais and selling at 59.55.
