‘Deceived’ Venezuelans protest US deportations to El Salvador
The Mozambican currency appreciated again against the US dollar and the Euro last week, according to the central bank’s average reference exchange rates.
The metical gained a few cents against the US dollar for the fifth consecutive week, adding up to an appreciation of about 1.7 meticais. The US dollar is the currency used to calculate the reference exchange rates for other currencies in Mozambique.
During the last week, the currency was bought in the country at 59.85 meticais, 41 metical cents cheaper than the previous week, while sale was made at 61.04 meticais per US dollar, 42 metical cents less.
The daily average purchase price of the US dollar varied between 59.64 and 60.01 meticais, while the sale price ranged between 60.82 and 61.20 meticais.
Meanwhile, the Euro was bought on average in the last week at 73.96 meticals, 34 metical cents less than the previous week, while sale was made at 75.43 meticais per Euro, down 35 meticais cents.
The daily average purchase price of the Euro ranged between 73.42 and 74.25 meticais, while the asking price ranged between 74.87 and 75.72 meticais.
