The national chess championship has been underway in Maputo since Saturday, with chess players from seven of Mozambique’s eleven provinces participating.
The five-day competition, which ends tomorrow, has seen more than 24 chess players compete for the title of men’s and women’s national chess champion.
Mateus Viageiro is the current men’s national champion, and the 2015 ladies’ champion, Vania Vilhete, is also defending her title.
