The Massingir dam in Gaza province has very low levels of water despite heavy rain in the region.
The rise in water levels – one to three centimeters – is still insufficient for normal discharge, according to Radio Mozambique.
The information was released on Tuesday by Ivan Cuna, head of the company’s Limpopo basin maintenance unit, during a visit by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security to Gaza.
Cuna points out that levels in the dam currently stand at 115 well below the 188 needed for normal discharge rates, while rain falling on national territory and in neighboring countries is expected to channel runoff water into the dam at a rate of 80 cubic meters per second.
