In an even more gross intervention than triggered the re-run in the 8 Marromeu polling stations yesterday, polling station staff posted false results sheets and then STAE arrived with the riot police and they took the ballot papers and boxes. In some cases they were taken out of the classroom windows.
There were observers in all 8 polling stations. In all 6 at 25 June primary school, observers report Renamo won by a large margin. Polling station staff then evicted journalists and observers from the polling station, and wrote totally false results sheets, which were posted for a short period before the ballot boxes were removed. Opposition parties were not allowed to protest.
As Samora Machel primary school, the ballots were counted and again gave Renamo victory, but no results sheets were posted or distributed, and the ballots and boxes were removed.
At Polling station 07127 – 03 at 25 June primary school, observers report:
Registered 800
Frelimo- 108,
MDM- 21
Renamo – 305.
But the posted results sheet (see photo in the attached pdf) says all 800 registered voters actually voted, there were 811 votes in the ballot box, and 591 were for Frelimo.
Observer and journalist counts from all 8 polling stations are in the attached pdf, which also has the results for 35 of 39 polling stations.
