Mozambique: SERNIC claims to arrest human trafficker - AIM report
Folha de Maputo
About 500 Maputo Municipal Transport Company (EMTPM) workers returned to work on Tuesday after an eight-day strike.
According to a driver who spoke anonymously to Folha de Maputo, the employees returned to work because the management of the company promised to solve the problems that led to the workers taking industrial action.
According to the source “there was a betrayal by some boot-lickers [‘escovinhas’], because the deal was that the management would solve the problem and then we would return to work”.
The workers were demanding the reinstatement of shift and seniority allowances, overtime and the payment of the February salary in its entirety, discounted through the electronic presence control system.
