The new tariff for semi-collective passenger transport (chapas) will probably come into force in January next year, Councillor for Mobility, Transport and Traffic on the Municipal Council of Maputo City, José Nicol said on Sunday.
The readjustment proposal presented by passenger transporter providers is being analysed by the Specialty Commission of the Municipal Assembly of Maputo, and could be considered by the full Municipal Assembly on the 15th and 16th of December.
Nicols noted that municipal regulations establish that any new tariff must come into force 15 days after its approval.
