Maputo hosts summit on Gender, Development and Combating Premature Marriage

Maputo is today hosting the fifth summit in Good Practices on Gender, Development and Combating Premature Marriage.
The opening ceremony will be chaired by the President Filipe Nyusi, according to a presidency press release.
The two-day event is organized by Gender Links Mozambique, in partnership with the Office of the First Lady of the Republic.
Gender Links Mozambique Executive Director Alice Banze said the conference was part of the implementation of the SADC protocol on gender and development.
The meeting takes place under the motto “50-50 until 2030, empower women and end gender-based violence (GBV) and premature marriages.”
