The Mozambican capital, Maputo, will host an important agribusiness conference on Wednesday 30th August, bringing together Portuguese entrepreneurs looking for business opportunities in the country.
The event is organised by the Portuguese-Speaking Agricultural Chamber (CAL), the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries’ largest agribusiness platform, together with the Association of Fruit Growers of Southern Mozambique.
The workshop aims to promote the transfer of knowledge through interventions and business-to-business meetings, and create a space for debate with the focus on strengthening relations between Mozambique and Portugal.
The panel will include the chairpersons of the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique, the Agency for the Promotion of Investment and Exports of Mozambique, the Commercial Investment Bank and a delegate from the Portuguese Foreign Trade and Investment Agency.
Participants will discuss local agribusiness opportunities and constraints, among other topics.
The CAL delegation, which arrived in Mozambique yesterday and will remain until September 4, also intends to use its visit to hold meetings with various agencies in the agribusiness sector with the aim of strengthening trade relations with Mozambique.
They will also visit the Maputo International Fair, which runs until next Sunday in Ricatla, Marracuene, Maputo province.
Mozambique’s agribusiness imports total around EUR 1.2 million.
The Portuguese-Speaking Agricultural Chamber is a non-profit business association with a presence in all the CPLP countries, promoting agribusiness and defending the interests of its members.
