Mozambique needs $80B to achieve energy transition by 2050

The first Mozambique-Brazil Oil and Gas Conference starts in Maputo today, an will address the state perspectives of the oil and gas sector in Mozambique. The event is organised by the National Hydrocarbons Company (ENH) in partnership with the Brazilian Embassy in Mozambique.
The meeting will discuss the prospects of oil and gas projects in Mozambique, with the emphasis on resource management and business opportunities, an ENH statement details.
In addition to academics and business people, the seminar will be attended by Deputy Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy of Mozambique, Augusto de Sousa Fernando, who will deliver the opening remarks.
“This is the first workshop of its kind jointly organised by the parties, which will address the state of play of oil and gas projects in Mozambique,” the document reveals.
In addition to ENH, the seminar will be attended by the Brazilian oil company Petrobras and other international companies such as Eni, Galp and Rosneft.
The initiative is supported by the National Petroleum Institute of Mozambique, the Confederation of Mozambican Economic Associations, the Brazilian Institute of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels, the Brazil – Mozambique Chamber of Commerce and the Brazilian Association of Petroleum Services Companies.
