The city of Maputo hosts its first Jazz and Picnic festival this Saturday in Café Acacia, as part of the overall Independence Day party season. The event is organised by WF Entertainment and BMF Entertainment and brings together a host of contemporary jazz artists for your delectation.
The Jazz and Picnic Festival will have two sessions, the first presenting performances by Muzila, Açúcar Castanho and Deltino Guereiro, and the second performances by South African duo Liquideep and Mozambican DJs Beat Keepa and Lelo Santos.
For the debut edition of this festival, Muzila has in store a saxophone with a beating heart, hot from touring with Ghorwane. Then music lovers can delight to the sounds of Açúcar Castanho, one of the most notable bands in the jazz scene recently.
Café Acacia will be open for dancing in the evening with the South African duo bringing the best of soul, house and Afro-jazz in its extensive portfolio. Beat Keepa and Lelo Santos will also do the honours keeping the party going.
The Jazz and Picnic Festival is the first jazz adventure that “Scenes to Cheer you Up in the Afternoon” brings to those who enjoy sunshine and outdoor fun.
