On Monday, the Maputo Municipal Council began dismantling some illegal public toilets.
The deputy administrator of KaMpfumu Municipal District, Celso Fulano, said that such facilities, set up in some points of the city of Maputo, constitute an attack on public health.
Fulano promised that after the dismantling, the municipality would continue inspections to ensure that these acts are definitively discontinued.
The administrator went on to say that the construction of permanent toilets and the installation of some mobile toilets was currently underway to address the problem.
