The Maputo City Council and the company Múltipla, Lda, yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding with a view to building multi-purpose sports pavilions in the seven municipal districts of the country’s capital.
President of the Municipal Council of Maputo, Eneas Comiche, said that the memorandum of understanding established an institutional relationship with the company Múltipla, Lda, an entity dedicated to the construction of sports facilities designed to boost the full exercise of sports and citizenship among young people through the promotion of their duties and rights, thereby improving quality of life and creating opportunities for the social integration of young people in the city of Maputo.
Speaking in turn, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Múltipla, Lda, António Carrasco, said that the company would work tirelessly in coordination with the City Council to turn the dream of building multi-purpose sports pavilions into a reality, stimulating the growth of sports in the capital and across the nation.
The event was attended by representatives of partner companies in the implementation of the project, including SOTUX, Austral Seguros and MetroBus, who reiterated their commitment to supporting the project as a way of helping young people and to promote healthy habits and good citizenship, given that the practice of sports has rules and educates people.
