Maputo City Council guarantees implementation of BRT project

Maputo City Council has given assurances that construction of the BRT rapid bus transport system will start in the present mandate.
The promise was made in Maputo this Thursday by the Director of Finance at Maputo City Council, Ananias Couana, on the sidelines of the 15th regular session of the Municipal Assembly.
Couana said that after initial financing had fallen through, municipal entities and the government were studying alternative financing of the project, and that the project, whose costs were initially estimated at more than US$200 million, would be reassessed.
