Maputo Central Hospital’s magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner has been out of action for two years, needing repairs estimated at 25 million meticais
So it transpired during President Nyusi’s visit to the largest hospital in the country on Thursday.
While X-ray imaging is adequate to evaluate the health situation of bones, magnetic resonance imaging allows assessment of the whole human organism.
The president promised during his visit that the device would be repaired.
