The Maputo-Catembe crossing has been operating normally since Monday afternoon, after an agreement reached between Transmaritima workers and the management of the company resolved a strike which started on the same day.
As part of the agreements, the workers will this Wednesday receive one month’s wages of the four currently in arrears. Next Tuesday, another month will be paid off, as well as the 13th-month salary for 2017.

A union source told Notícias that the remaining demands contained in the document presented to management could well be met by the end of next week.
These include the payment of a wage increase agreed for the period from 2009 to 2011, as well as the handing over of Social Security contributions totalling more than one million meticais.
The company has already paid four months’ worth of the retroactive salary adjustment agreed in April 2017, with the other four to be covered by the Ministry of Transport and Communications until Friday.
