They are not only willing to kill Malawians passing through their country, they are also ready to make life hard for Malawians.
The two warring sides in the Mozambican civil war have started pouring their anger on Malawi.
Reports that Malawi24 has received indicate that a tanker carrying fuel for Malawi was set ablaze in Mozambique.
Authorities from Petroleum Importers Limited have disclosed that a Malawian truck has been fed to the flames following a civil war between Mozambique Liberation Front (Frelimo) and Mozambique National Resistance (Renamo).
Confirming the development, Petroleum Importers Limited General Manager Enwell Kadango said the Malawian truck was set on fire on Wednesday together with trucks from Mozambique.
“Its true that one of our fuel tanker that carried petrol has been set on fire together with other trucks from Mozambique, we have talked to the driver he is safe now with Mozambique police officers,” said Kadang.
The report comes barely weeks after Malawi24 published an article warning Malawians travelling through Mozambique to be very mindful due to clashes between government forces and opposition Renamo.
In the article, a truck driver told Malawi24 reporter that the rebels “spared his life” because he was a Malawian while others were burnt to ashes.
Last month, four Malawians were killed while three others suffered gunshot wounds after they were attacked by soldiers in Mozambique.
