The Governor of Nampula, Manuel Rodrigues, has reiterated his call to Muslims to exercise greater vigilance, and denounce anyone pretending to be a believer in order to recruit young people.
Manuel Rodrigues said that, at this time of fasting [Ramadan], Muslims should show solidarity with victims of the terrorist attacks in Cabo Delgado.
Speaking this Sunday (May 2) afternoon when he joined members of the Nampula mosque to break the fast, the governor said that the reopening of religious services would demand greater vigilance regarding those maliciously motivated.
Representing the Association of Mosques in Nampula, Amamo Fazbem said that Muslims would continue to be vigilant and to convey messages of peace and harmony among Mozambicans.
Amamo Fazbem noted that, in this month of Ramadan, Muslims were making sacrifices and praying for an end to terrorist actions and other atrocities undermining the peace, harmony and development of Mozambican communities.
