The Governor of Cabo Delgado, Valige Tauabo, on Tuesday visited the District of Palma to comfort the population and assess the level of readiness of emergency services and the provision of consumables to the displaced.
In view of the latest events in some parts of Palma, such as Olumbi, Mondlane and Quitupo, Tauabo met with community leaders to learn about recent terrorist activity and other matters.
Community leaders said that, as a result of the intensification of surveillance at the community level, the terrorists have not been successful in their incursions, and that the hard work of the Defence and Security Forces had given the local residents a feeling of increased security and confidence that better days would come soon.
Valige Tauabo left guidelines to ensure that the resettlement village in Quitunda remained proof against infiltrators, and that leadership at all levels, from ‘Chefe de Quarteirão’ to ‘Chefe da Unidade’, operated in a rigorous manner.
“Today, more than ever, we need to be united in order to continue fighting the enemy, confident in our certain victory,” Tauabo enthused.
