Speaking earlier today (March 31) on the Radio Mozambique Café da Manhã programme, the deputy director-general of the National Health Institute (INS), Eduardo Samo Gudo, clarified some aspects of the new measures announced by President Filipe Nysui on Monday.
Gudo said that the intention was to accomplish a “massive engagement of all key players – and this what the President of the Republic called for”.
“For example, in the previous measures, there was a limit of 50 people at social events; now, social events are forbidden. This is one important development.
“Another important development is the limitation of movement inside the country. In Stage Two, there was a limit on international movement – entry into and exit from the country. Here, freedom of movement is further curtailed, in that we have to move less within the country. We should avoid travelling between provinces, and even within them.
“We have to move less, because this is the logic of social distancing. This is what other countries are doing: limiting the movement of people to the minimum possible.”
