Letshego Holdings launched its new venture, Letshego Bank, at the Montebelo Congresso Hotel in Maputo on 22 September, just as the finance house celebrates five years of operations in Mozambique.
The new brand will bring innovations intended to promote financial inclusion to the market, with a system called letsGO designed to be used in rural areas without mains electricity which will use solar energy combined with biometrics to open basic bank accounts.
According to Chipirilo Katundo, head of Leshego bank in Mozambique, letsGO its aligned with the national strategy of financial inclusion and aims to broaden access to bank services in outlying districts. The objective is to provide simple, appropriate and affordable solutions in order to improve the quality of life of the bank’s clients.
