LATAM Airlines Brasil has just expanded its codeshare agreement with South African airline Airlink. The expansion of the commercial partnership includes four more destinations on latam.com for flights with a connection in Johannesburg (South Africa). They are: Harare (Zimbabwe), Maputo (Mozambique), Windhoek (Namibia) and Dar es Salaam (Tanzania).
Since 2023, LATAM is the only Brazilian company to fly from Brazil to the African continent. This is the São Paulo-Johannesburg route, which has 4 weekly flights of 9 hours in duration on Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The model accommodates 300 passengers (30 in Premium Business cabin, 57 in Premium Economy and 213 in Economy).
Airlink, in turn, operates the Johannesburg-Dar es Salaam and Johannesburg-Maputo routes daily, while Johannesburg-Windhoek has 6 weekly flights and Johannesburg-Harare has 5 per week. All routes are operated by Embraer 190 aircraft with capacity for 98 passengers.
With the expansion of LATAM Airlines Brasil’s codeshare with Airlink, customers will be able to purchase a single ticket and checked baggage directly from LATAM to travel from Brazil to a final destination of up to 8 airports on the African continent.
