Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM/Mozambique Airlines) will lay on charter flights for deputies to attend sessions of the Assembly of the Republic, Rádio Moçambique reports.
Representatives of the two institutions signed an agreement to that effect in Maputo yesterday, which also details the issuing and delivering airline tickets and outlines travel management training for Parliament Secretariat staff.

AR and LAM Sign New Commercial Agreement.
The Assembly of the Republic (AR) and the Mozambican Airlines (LAM) today [September 9] signed, in Maputo, the New Trade Agreement which contains a set of elements and information characterising the services of issuing and delivery of airline tickets and other related services.
According to the Secretary-General (SG) of the AR, Armando Mário Correia, who initialled the new document on the part of the Mozambican Parliament, the AR’s expectations in relation to the Agreement signed this Wednesday, aim at offering better service to the ‘Casa do Povo’ entities.
“Through the Commercial Agreement a link is provided so that the Assembly of the Republic may issue airline tickets on its sales platform, with access to the reservation system, under a “corporate shop” regime, involving the upcoming training of members of staff of the General Secretariat of the Assembly of the Republic, in matters of travel management,” Armando Correia said.
On the occasion, the SG of the AR made it known that, “still, within the scope of this Agreement, the Airlines of Mozambique are available to carry out Charter flights, on the occasion of holding ordinary and extraordinary sessions of the Assembly of the Republic, showing its commitment to perfecting processes related to the preparation of travel for Members and Officials, always at the service of this Magna Casa”.
For his part, the Director General of LAM, João Carlos Pó Jorge, promised that the airline will do everything to show that it is interested and available to better serve the Assembly of the Republic and the country in general.
“We want to be part of a transparency team that Mozambique deserves,” said João Jorge, adding that, “the Commercial Agreement currently signed is the culmination of work that has been carried out between the parties in recent times”.
The Commercial Agreement signed yesterday between the Parties is renewable and lasts for one year.
On the part of LAM, the new Commercial Agreement was signed by the General and Commercial Directors, João Carlos Pó Jorge and Maria Luísa Ferreira, respectively.
