Expo Osaka: Mozambique strengthens cooperation with Portugal and Japan

LAM (Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique – Mozambique Airlines) transported a total of 48,175 passengers in May 2022, against 36,646 transported in the same period in 2021, a growth of 31%.
The four routes with the highest traffic in the period under analysis were Nampula-Maputo with 8,442 passengers, Beira-Maputo (8,684), Maputo-Pemba (5,804) and Maputo-Tete (5,944).
The national airline in May of this year achieved an operational punctuality index of 74% of 871 departures, a growth of 5 percentage points compared to the same period in 2021, when the punctuality index figure for a total of 588 departures was 69%.
Punctuality in May was however down four percentage points on April’s 78%.
Among the routes analysed for punctuality, Chimoio achieved 94%, Tete 87%, Nacala 86% and Vilankulo and Harare 85%.
