Mozambique: FADM military personnel practice Tactical Combat Casualty Care skills
Folha de Maputo
The provincial government of Kwazulu-Natal in South African has sworn to adopt drastic measures to fight the theft and smuggling of double-cab luxury ‘bakkies’ (utility vehicles) across the border with Mozambique.
The director of the Kwazulu-Natal Economic Development Department, Sihle Zikalala, is quoted by VOA as saying that the local government already has a budget for the construction of concrete barriers along some sections of the border with Mozambique which are known as stolen vehicles crossing routes.
According to Zikalala, 48 vehicles were stolen in the Jozini area, which borders Mozambique, in October alone. The owners believe that their cars were smuggled across the border and sold in Mozambique.
