Mozambique: Mondlane announces creation of new political party - AIM report

Kenya’s Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Dr Alfred Mutua has travelled to Mozambique in preparation for President William Ruto’s visit to the country.
CS Mutua in a statement said he was received by his Mozambique counterpart Verónica Macamo in Maputo on Wednesday during the Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation (JPCC).
‘I have today arrived in Maputo, Mozambique for the Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation meet and to prepare for President William Ruto’s State visit to the country. Upon arrival, I was received by Her Excellency Verónica Macamo, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Mozambique,” Mutua stated on Twitter.
During the meeting, the CS said they signed eight instruments of cooperation in the areas of Transport, Blue Economy, Energy, Agriculture, Defence, Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters, Transfer of Sentenced Persons as well as Public Service Training.
The CS at the same time urged the aforementioned ministries to work together to ensure the agreed areas are implemented within the shortest time possible.
“I called upon the respective Ministries to work collaboratively, exert more effort on fast-tracking action and implementation of the agreed areas of cooperation by putting in place robust follow-up, monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to review the progress on the deliverables agreed upon,” he stated.
