Buses have been ordered to have carry a maximum of 60% their capacity
Kenya has confirmed one more case of coronavirus, bringing the total number in the country to 16.
More than 500 people are being monitored after coming into contact with the 16 patients.
Kenyans are particularly concerned about a priest and a government minister who tested positive.
The priest travelled to Kenya from Rome and celebrated mass.
The senior government official defied self-quarantine after returning from Germany, and mingled with colleagues and the public.
Authorities put him in forced quarantine and have promised he will be prosecuted.
Meanwhile the government has appealed to hotels hosting mandatory quarantine guests to lower their rates by at least half.
Passengers flying into Kenya have to be quarantined for 14 days at their own expense.
Commuters are also feeling the pinch after fares more than doubled along some routes in the capital, Nairobi. Public transport vehicles were ordered to carry no more than 60% of their capacity.
Hundreds of people have already lost their jobs as many businesses, including hotels and flower farms, shut down.
