The body of Tete district administrator José Maria Mandere, who was swept away by Tropical Storm Ana floodwaters, has just been found in the lower Benga area, Miramar reports.
Mandere was part of the retinue of Governor of Tete Domingos Viola, assessing the impact of the bad weather that has hit Tete province, in the centre of the country.
Search operations, which began shortly after the incident, resulted in the rescue last night of a Radio Mozambique journalist who was reporting on the governor’s mission.
