Feizal Sidat, the president of the Mozambican Football Federation, has tested for Covid-19, the organisation has announced, in the statement reproduced below.
“The Mozambican Football Federation (FMF) hereby informs the general public that the President of this institution, Feizal Sidat, after a visit to Cabo Delgado Province on August 21, 2020, as part of the exercise of its functions, has tested positive for Covid-19.
“On his return to the city of Maputo on 23 August, Feizal Sidat felt ill, and went from the airport to a clinic where he was subjected to the Covid-19 test and immediately hospitalised, since the first symptoms [had] appeared.
“After a first, negative, result for Covid-19, resulting from a blood test, a second PCR test was carried out, the result of which was released this morning, August 28, and was positive for Covid-19.
“The President of the FMF is currently under medical care and in total isolation.
“The FMF calls on all citizens who have been in contact with the President of this institution to remain vigilant and to take the necessary precautions in case of any symptoms.”
