Mozambique: At least three fishermen missing, feared abducted in Cabo Delgado
Two individuals were detained in Nampula, a driver and his assistant, after 32 packages of one kilo each containing heroin were found inside a truck apparently transporting furniture from that province to the city of Maputo.
According to the Police of the Republic of Mozambique in Nampula, the vehicle was stopped at a traffic police checkpoint in Murrupula district.
“After searching the vehicle, 32 packages of heroin were found. The individuals caught with this merchandise were referred by our subunits in Maputo, “said PRM’s Zacarias Nacute.
The detainees stated that they merely received the order and that they were neither aware of the contents of the packages nor to whom in the city of Maputo were the goods to be delivered.
The PRM ensures that it will continue investigations until other members of the group are neutralised and brought to justice.
